Legible Passport Printers

Congratulations on your 2 Billion dollar profit in the last quarter. I have been a customer of your Guildford Branch (9276) for several years. When I have my pass book updated I can hardly read the print out. This has been going on for numerous months and my complaints have been on deaf ears. With this huge profit can you provide to my branch money to purchase some decent printers or ink. As well I have noticed recently you have increased some service charges by as much as 30 to 100 percent. Looking forward to a favorable response.

I have been a customer with them since 1999, no nsf, RRSP, RESP, Td Waterhouse accounts with them. They wanted to hold two large deposit I made into my account. I spoke with the MCS - this just got me more mad. They don't value you as a customer, having all my investments etc with them. Treating you like nothing. Want to close all my accounts with them...... Horrible customer service. I hate going into the branch. I always doing everything online. Only go in if I have to. I called the customer care line to complain. The person there even got me more mad. They don't respect you as a customer there. Why have your money and investment in a bank that doesn't value their customers. There is so many other banks in Canada.

If the deposit is large then there is an increased risk to the bank, the only way they can mitigate that risk is by holding the cheque to verify the funds. I am sure you would take the same safety precautions when someone handed you a piece of paper that was essentially an IOU for a large amount.

If this isn't the WORST Bank FOR MANY REASONS I DON'T KNOW WHAT IS!!!!

You obviously don't care about your customers so as a customer why should I care?

I have to assume that this bank and it's credit card division is run by individuals that know what they are doing..............Wrong. I don't get paid to critique TD Watrehouse's negative issues so why doesn't someone from Waterhouse figure it out. I can't wait until the time comes that I can complete my business with waterhouse and move on, explaining(some call it bad mouthing) to as may other potential customers as possible just how poorly this bank treats it's customers

Thank You for being a customer....Have a nice day..... we appreciate your business Etc.Etc. Etc, al BS of course. Adios.

Self Help Machine Took My Money

Today I went to TD bank to deposit some cash (close to half a grand) to pay off my bills. The line up for the counter was long, so I opted for the self help machine (something I rarely do and wish I hadn't) which I totally regret.

I read, speak and write fluent English. Pressed all the options and inserted my money into the slot that takes in the money. Next thing I saw on the screen was either unable to identify or detect the money. I can't remember the exact message in words as I was really panicking.

The money didn't come back out. I pressed few options on the screen. Luckily, the customers relations coordinator was beside the machine I was at. I quickly asked for help!

I explained my situation. I remember exactly the number of bills of each amount and wrote it down for her as proof. She filed a claim for me and I was informed it would take 2 days to a week to hear a response. I asked for statement or letter in paper form to prove that we had this discussion.

There wasn't any but she gave me her business card. She said she would give me a call once she gets a response.

I really hope my money gets deposited into my account. Had I not used this self help machine and waited in the long line up, I wouldn't be in this worrisome situation.

Update: I called TD customer services every few days and inquired about the progress of the investigation. They were very attentive to my concern. Just last week, the amount of money I deposited into the green machine showed up in my bank account.

Correction * Had I not used this self help machine, and waited in the long line up instead, I wouldn't be in this worrisome situation.

I will provide update once I hear response from TD canada.

Td Canada Trust Account Review from Vancouver, British Columbia

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

I have been a loyal TD bank customer for over 10 years. There has been multiple occasions where TD has screwed me over.

On December 1 I cancelled my account due to a HUGE error with what the employee did at the branh. I re opened it the same day because I forgot my rent cheque etc comes through that bank. It is now December 18th and I will be closing my account for good! I was told I could still deposit cheques through the atm and be able to take money out the same day.

I deposited a cheque into my account via ATM mind you I had absolutely no money in the account and no money in my pocket. I was unable to take the money out so I wait in line and go to the teller (I was trying to save time by using the arm) the teller calls me a liar and that I didn't deposit anything into the account the manager came over and informed her anything past 6pm won't show up until 3am est. She goes on to tell me I am a new customer and my account has a 90 day old on it!!!!! Are you kidding me I've been with you for 10 years I am not new to you!!!

I called the day after to get the same response on the phone that there was absolutely nothing they can do it will be on hold till December 29th!!! The customer service is horrible and they're rude. This isn't the first time they have done this. About 5 months ago I put a cheque through the atm and was not able to get money out.

I called and the guy pretty much laughed at. I don't have much money and at that point I was in a cast from a serious accident and needed money to cab home he pretty much told me to walk home. I got a call a few days later apologizing for his behaviour on the phone and was reimbursed $40 so for them to tell me there is nothing they can do today is BS!! They choose to be *** to people.

They bounced a cheque on my dad for being .7 cents short. This bank is horrible to bank with aviod it at all cost. To cause so much stress on people who are only trying to get their money or whatever is just sad on their behalf.

They should be ashamed for treating their customer like this. Bank with a credit union and stay away from this bank!!!!

Do not use TD Canada Trust, they just closed (without me knowing or asking) my savings account because I haven't used that account since August 2015! I also have a line of credit which I haven't used since probably April last year! $0 balance. So I'm just wondering how they can close a savings account but they can't close a LOC that hasn't been used for longer time using the same logic?

Banks only want to make money out of you and get their commissions. If you are an educated consumer you don't need the banks. Happy I have learned how to take care of my money and finances.

If you want to not be screwed by banks and learn how to take care of your own finances send me a message.

If you weren't using the saving account, why is it a big issue that they closed it? It's really easy re-open a savings account, just ask for an adviser and it takes 5 minutes.

It's harder to re-open a LOC because you need to apply for it.

So what if you suddenly needed to borrow money and they closed the LOC? You would need to re-apply with the chance of not being able to re-open it because your credit or income has gone down, then how mad would you be?

Horrible Financial Service Reps who lie and bad branch managers

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

When I transferred my investments from another financial institution I was told I would deal with a financial service rep that I really liked and I would be reimbursed for the transfer fees the other financial institution held. When I started the transfers I was blocked from dealing with the financial service rep I liked (and was told I could deal with) and was told I would not be reimbursed for the transfer fees as promised (I was told all the promises of being allowed to deal with financial service reps of my choice and transfer fees reimbursed were "mis-communications").

I was offered $100 as a "settlement" and basically told to go away (not in those exact words but that was the idea). Branch manager at my home branch is totally useless....can never get ahold of her when issues arise.

how were you blocked? Did you reach out the financial services representative and ask for a meeting with him or her?

You should bring up the issue of the transfer fees with that person.

Stay away from this bank

I have been with TD Canada Trust for years and years, recently received a letter from the bank, stating that they will increase my interest rate, they didn't invite me to re-evaluate my financial situation, sorry to tell you TD it was a wrong decision on your part, you have lost a customer for ever, I'm cancelling my checking account immediately, then my visa, and my line of credit to follow, good luck to you making money out of me in the future, PC offer unlimited transaction for my checking account with no monthly fee, I have paid $3.95 monthly for my account for years

All banks do that. It happens either if interest rates go up, the LOCs are variable so if market rates go up so will the LOC, or if your credit has declined you are a bigger risk to lend money to so the higher interest rate reflects the increased risk to the bank.

If you had a deal with your friend that he could borrow money from you anytime, no questions asked, and you saw your friend do something like not pay a debt that was owed, wouldn't you ask for more compensation to lend money to him in the future?

Based on that past behavior, there is more risk he won't pay you back.

Td Canada Trust Credit Card Review from Winnipeg, Manitoba

I am extremely upset with the way my situation was handled on the phone today. With the many years I have been banking with Td and the amount of loyalty my family and I have shown this so called business; that is absolutely no way to treat a customer.

I have just booked a flight with Expedia for Td myself and my 3 month old baby.

I would like all the points that I have to be used towards this flight.

Please verify that someone is looking into this matter. I want to use my points for this flight not for a flight way back in September.

I don't have time to sit and wait on the phone to speak to a manger or explain myself to 5 different people or be given the run around--speak to this person or that department. I needed those points to book for the Black Friday sale today!

Not wait for 2-3 days. Anyway I already booked without it.

No thanks to TD in anyway. Those are my reward points and I should be able to use them whenever I want to.

TD Canada Trust sucks, avoid at any cost.

I always have multiple problems with TD Canada Trust.

First when I wanted to apply for 2nd mortgage, the representative told me to go ahead and look for a property. I did and when the application began he said I am not eligible for the amount that he said I was eligible for.

Second, I have had multiple problems with TD debit card outside Canada (US, Japan, and Indonesia) and when I call they always make it sound like it was my fault (oh did you call us before you left, yes I did! And shouldn't TD properly trained these people to let us know certain procedures before going outside Canada. Like changing your PIN to 4 digits?)

And I was waiting for a copy of returned check from one of my clients. TD messed it up for me and I had to wait for another 3 weeks. I got $5 Starbucks giftcard for this. Yay, $5 for another 3 weeks wait.

I have 1 savings account, 2 checking accounts, USD account, TD mortgage and TD investing. I opened TD because I like TD Bank in the US. Apparently it is totally different in Canada.

I had to wait for 20 minutes to speak to a customer service to print out my statement. Ridiculous! This type of printout isn't available online.

I need to change bank soon.

I don't work for TDCT, and I have had problems with banks, but reading this complaint it sounds (to me) that this customer is BITTER because he didn't get what he wanted.Newsflash buddy, The bank is a business, they're not your friend, they are literally no different then any other company. I'll tackle his 4 complaints in order. His first complaint really has no basis, he couldn't get WHAT HE wanted for money for a mortgage so he's mad, lol.

I 'll fill you in on a little secret, and this is how it works in every bank all over the world. the banks will calculate what is called TDS / GDS LTV and I am not going to explain what this is but as a consumer you should all look this up so you can understand how an approval works, its all about risk, exposure, protecting the consumer as well as the bank. GOOGLE IT.Anyway by calculating this, it shows what YOU could qualify for terms of money from the bank from a risk perspective. (KEY WORD QUALIFY) I am sorry that you did NOT get what you wanted friend, but this is how it works, on top of that TDCT Criteria for Lending is extremely conservative probably the most out of the 5 big banks.I'm sorry but that's just how Finance works friendThe 2nd one, I don't believe because you don't have to call TD anymore to tell them you're travelling, even for credit cards now as the security has gotten so advanced that the system knows exactly how to detect fraud and when.

So I am going to call bluff on that. But to be honest if he's going to all those places and using his card, it is possible he could get flagged, you will get this at any bank as well its a form of protection, would he prefer that it not be there and if he lost his wallet the bank just let the thieves empty out his account? You can't have your cake and eat it to.The 3rd one sounds suspiciously like the client bounced a cheque and blamed TD, and when he called in they explained to him the rules of how everything works and even then they still gave him 5$ card which no bank has to do, and he still complained. No bank has ever given me anything for when i messed up, and why should they? And lastly the 4th one, calling him on it again, because every document can be printed online, the only thing that cannot be printed online is discharge Statements which would be mailed after the Mortgage discharged.

I get it though sometimes Online banking can be tricky to navigate and its not easy but let's be real here for a second the customer still really has no leg to stand on because banks are no different than any other business, They get busy! They have other customers to help, Are the people in front of you less important is there business less than yours, or should you get carte blanche to go in front because you have just a statement to print out.

Do you get mad because there's a lineup at the restaurants, drive-thru, what about the grocery stores? Come on take some owner-ship.To each there own, but this guy sounds very bitter because like an upset toddler he didn't get his way, and this is the problem with this new generation, they've been coddled their whole lives and they expect other business to do the same thing.Anyway

Guest

The statements are available online, and if your financial situation changes adversely then you won't be approved for the same amount as you were originally. The amount is not guaranteed.

TD charged $1.00 for an interact transfer, not out of line with other banks. BUT then charged $5.00 to cancel the transfer when the intended recipient claimed not to be able to accept on-line transfers. That is unconscionable!

Please hire competent staff

Visited a branch in Ladner last evening to set up a joint account. The experience was painful and seemed to completely confuse the "Banking Specialist." Will be looking at other banks.

After setting up the account we wanted auto payments to come out of the account. We were told we could not do this not sure of the reason. The Specialist did not offer any solutions to help solve this.

Very discouraging service. In total the amount of funds going through the account is 100K so lots of bank fees.

All retail banking is hit and miss. The employees are not compensated well and thrown to service customers without much training or opportunity to learn, so your bound to find some under-competent people with any retail bank.

Its unfortunate, but that's the way it is across the board.

Ask a few more people and someone else will know how to set up automatic payments and do it for you.

Td Canada Trust Account Review from Elkton, Maryland

I've been a customer with TD Canada for a year and had close my accounts because of extremely poor customer service. They constantly told me to take care of my problems and they constantly failed to deliever. When I complained too much they wouldn't do business with me anymore. Even though I already closed my accounts. When i still kept inquiring about my issues before I closed my accounts they told me I was harrasing them and they would get policr involved. I'd say if TD Canada would put as much energy into good custumer service as they do in getting rid of people it'd probably be a decent bank

TD Canada Trust Horrible Customer Communications !!!

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

Unbelievable pass the buck attitude, never answer their phones, poor & no return calls. Worst communications of any company I have seen in my 40 years in business. It ranks up there with government performance.

Lost wire transfer for over a week, and no one would take the responsibility to correct the bank's error. Pass the buck and hide in the system is common place. Horrible and unacceptable !

I have tried to get to someone high enough the system to explain and resolve these issues on a number of occasions, but again, everyone hides in the woodwork. Very frustrating situation.

Since I have been with TD for 20+ years, I would prefer to work this situation out, but it is most evident now that TD has a corporate attitude and culture that is anything but customer orientated and no real desire to improve it.

Branches rarely answer their phones, because newsflash they have customers to help. This is what that 1 800 # on the back of your card is for.You want help go in, or call the 1800 #.

The days of private banking and having returned calls is over my friend, this is the digital age. Adapt or get out of the way.
